This is the first of a multi-part series on a fantasy commissioner’s role in dealing with league trades and collusion. Then, the topic of collusion popped up. Fun times. I’ve […]

Week 8 Buy Low Sell High Trade Advice
Week 8 Buy Low Sell High Trade Advice
Welcome to the midpoint! I hope all of you are in first place looking to solidify your playoff standing. If not, and you're here to make the BIG trade and turn your season around, you're in the right place. With the injuries going around the NFL, there's a lot of good buys to be had. Come in and take a look!
Players I'm Buying
Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff
Cousins has been good but not spectacular. You can take advantage of this and get an elite QB1 for a non premium price. If you wait until after the Saints game, his price is going to skyrocket. Goff has been about in the same boat. I project his value to come up as his receivers get healthy. I don't normally advise you trade for a QB but if you really need one, these are the two to target this week.
Sony Michel, Ronald Jones
This week we've got the two rookies featuring in our article. Sony Michel was hurt last week but it isn't serious. His owners may be scared and panic trade him. If you can afford to sit him for a few weeks, grab him and wait until playoffs to unleash him. Ronald Jones is more of a gamble but with Barber nursing an injury, he could be a worthy one. With this newfound opportunity, he could runaway with the starting job.
Michael Crabtree, Tyler Boyd
Crabtree has posted double digit points all but one week in PPR. With an easy schedule coming up and a high floor, he's a perfect trade target this week to prepare for fantasy playoffs. Tyler Boyd has been a bit of a disappointment since his breakout earlier this season. A resurgence is on the way. With games on deck against TB, NO, and CLE, you can expect big things coming.
Players I'm Selling
Jaguars Running Backs, Kerryon Johnson
With word of Hyde going to Jacksonville, I want even less to do with this backfield than before. I'm trading away all pieces before trying to figure out this three headed monster. Fournette has been unhealthy all year, Yeldon has been serviceable in his absence and Hyde is an above average back. Stay Clear. Kerryon Johnson is an amazing talent.I wish Patricia could see that. He refuses to stop playing Blount even when the Lions have their first 100 yard rusher in years.
Amari Cooper, Tyrell Williams
Mid season trades almost never work out for fantasy purposes. Cooper had inconsistent hands in Oakland and will have inconsistent hands in Dallas. Find the Team that is hopeful for the change and take advantage. Get a good WR2. Tyrell Williams has been INSANE. Having said that, he's still a deep threat and can't consistently have those kinds of numbers. Take advantage of back to back big games and flip him for someone a little more consistent. Like a Crabtree.
There's many option this week to improve your team. Remember to keep trying. If you're in position to make a playoff run, start selling your depth for stars. If you're not doing so well and need to turn around your season, start a fire sale. Sell your stars for more adequate option in all spots. Send me your question on Twitter @HessFootball and ill help you out!

Week 7 Buy Low Sell High Trade Advice
Week 7 Buy Low Sell High Trade Advice
I'm sorry I'm late this week. I had a little something come up but it's not too late to get you a good deal! As the season progresses, finding steals becomes harder and harder. At this point in the year, most people know who is set up for sustained success and who isn't. With that said, this is still my job and I'm still going to try to find you some good buys. Let's get started!
Players I'm Buying
Baker Mayfield, Jared Goff
After Bakers initial Thursday night action, he has really cooled off. In the next 4 weeks, he plays Pit, TB, KC, and ATL. Four of the worst pass defenses in the NFL currently. The guy that picked him up is probably pretty down on him. If you need a cheap QB, you can't do better right now. Goff has 1 touchdown pass in the last 2 weeks and hasn't looked too hot. Just a couple weeks removed from a monster 465 yard, 5 touchdown game. Grab him while he's been down.
AJ Green, Jarvis Landry
AJ Green has been good and you'll pay a pretty penny for him. With that said, you can buy him today as a low-end WR1 instead of the Elite receiver that he is. His next 3 games come against KC, TB and NO. His breakout back into the elite tier is coming. Buy him first. Copy everything I said on Baker here on Landry. The Targets have been there, the production is coming.
Jack Doyle
In the midst of the Ebron breakout year, many players have forgotten about Doyle. On his way back from injury, I expect him to go back to being Lucks safety blanket. Ebron plays more slot WR than tight end so there is no reason why they can't both produce.
Players I'm Selling
Kenyan Drake, Chris Carson
The time is now! You may finally be able to get something for Kenyan Drake. I don't think this one needs much explaining if you've held on to him all year. Frank Gore is not going away and he looks to be better than Drake so far. Trade him now while there are good games in remembrance. Carson seems to be a part of a full-on time-share. He, Mike Davis and now Rashaad Penny are all getting carries. Dump him for something more stable before it becomes a committee for good.
Marquise Goodwin
On the surface, Goodwin has returned to his 2017 form. Look a little closer and you'd see he has only 4 receptions. That production isn't sustainable. Also, Pettis started practicing this week adding another mouth to feed. If you can turn his big game into a more consistent receiver, don't hesitate.
Players I'm Picking Up
Dak Prescott, Jalen Richard, Dante Pettis, Rickey Seals-Jones
Dak finally looked like the player he was billed to be after his rookie season. I don't expect him to have a good game in Washington but after that, he could be a solid QB1. Lynch is nursing a hamstring injury and could miss a few weeks. That would put Richard in a featured role. Pick him up while he's on bye and no one is paying attention. Pettis returned to practice this week. The dropoff to Beatherd hasn't been as bad as some analysts thought and Pettis is a size/speed freak. Niles Paul didn't last long as a viable option. Seals-Jones has seen consistent targets since Rosen took over and has posted decent games in 3 of the last 4. As always make sure you follow me on Twitter @HessFootball for more Fantasy advice and analysis.

Week 6 Buy Low Sell High Trade Advice
Week 6 Buy Low Sell High Trade Advice
Were now swinging towards the mid-year mark. By now you should have a pretty good idea whether you're fielding a good team or a bad one. If you're 3-2 or better you should now be looking to trade your depth for more star players. If you're 2-3 or worse, you should begin shopping your elite stars for depth and starting options for a more rounded roster. Bye weeks becoming more common are good for trading. Its easier to take advantage of a rival needing a player. Now that we've discussed strategy, let's get into targets.
Players I'm Buying
Corey Clement, Austin Ekeler
Right now the Eagles backfield looks to be a mix of Smallwood and Clement. Yes, they could add some via trade. But if you're able to get Clement for a cheap price he's worth the gamble. WIth 19 and 10 PPR points in both games he had an active role, there's a good chance this move will pay off for you. Ekeler was supposed to be a handcuff. Now he has over 400 scrimmage yards and 3 touchdowns to his name through 5 weeks. Take advantage of the owner who thinks he's a backup and get yourself a solid RB2.
Keenan Allen, Micheal Thomas
Keenan Allen has been in a slump since week 1. He has only 1 touchdown this year and just hasn't done much. This seems familiar. Anyone that bought low last season during his slump was handsomely rewarded with a third-place finish. He's still getting the targets, he's still the go-to guy. It's just a matter of time before he breaks out in a big way. Thomas is in a mini-slump of his own. After starting the season out with a bang, he's yet to clear 100 yards or score a touchdown in 2 weeks. With a bye this week, it's the perfect time to sneak in an offer. AcquiringThimas gives you a good shot at finishing with the WR1 on your roster.
Jordan Reed, David Njoku
The Redskins were a steaming pile of trash on Monday Night Football. The whole team was embarrassing including Jordan Reed. This is your time to swoop in and steal an elite tight end during a year of famine at the position. Reed had yet to score under double digits in PPR prior to this point. If the team that has him is panicking, step in and get yourself a TE1. Njoku is less of a sure thing. But with Baker at the helm, he's looking like he could be a weekly low-end starter with upside. If you can pick him off your waivers or get him for a cheap bench option, now is the time.
Players I'm Selling
James White, Kareem Hunt
Since Burkhead went on IR, White has been a star. Right? Kind of. He's seen 24 targets in the last 2 weeks. A number that is completely unsustainable for him in an offense with Josh Gordon, Julien Edelman, Chris Hogan, and Gronk. Ros, He's probably a solid RB2. If you're able to trade him now for a RB1 or WR1 you should take what you can get. Kareem Hunt is back, rejoice! Not so fast. Almost all of his production has come from touchdowns. He has only 5 catches during the entire season. Take advantage of the league mate who thinks Hunt is back and dump him for a more well-rounded player before he has another bad game.
Sterling Sheperd, Will Fuller
Over the last 3 weeks, Shepard has been an important piece to my team and many others. Finally the number 2 WR he was supposed to be. His increased productions are directly in line with Engrams injury. With Engram set to return, its time to move onto greener pastures. Will Fuller has been a star with Watson behind center. Too bad there's a new sheriff in town. Coutee has looked fantastic in the last 2 weeks playing from the slot. With Hopkins already eating a significant amount of the targets, I'm just not sure there's enough to consistently produce three starting receivers. Not to mention Fuller's history with recurring hamstring problems. It's better to just relieve yourself of the headache.
Eric Ebron
Ebron has been a star during the first half of the season. Now with Hilton, Doyle, and Mack nearing a return, he's going to lose some of his shine. He has never been an efficient option but the sheer amount of volume had made up for that. In such a bad Tight End landscape, you should be able to get a haul for past production.
Players I'm Picking Up
Jameis Winston, Ronald Jones, Keke Coutee, Niles Paul
Winston is back as the starter and has a super easy schedule, many weapons, and a horrible defense. He could be a league winner. Ronald Jones has looked dreadful, but he has an opportunity to make this backfield his with the way Peyton Barber has played. Coutee has been fantastic in PPR leagues and is worth an add as an immediate WR3. ASJ was put on IR and the former receiver Niles Paul is up next. He is a better player than ASJ and should produce enough to at least be streamed. For more waiver pickups check out Brendan's picks here!

Week 5 Buy Low Sell High Trade Advice
Week 5 Buy Low Sell High Trade Advice
Welcome to Week 5 ladies and gents. It's been a crazy season. The 2018 season is on a record-breaking pace for most touchdowns in a year and fantasy is rich with stars because of it. For the last few weeks, I've been actively telling you to get Corey Davis on your squad for cheap. That window has officially closed. It's not too late for Brady, Jones or Adams though. Buy, Buy, Buy! (NSYNC reference intended)
Players I'm Buying
Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson has been less than stellar so far. I'm sure his owners are getting pretty tired of him and may be looking for something new. If you're looking for a QB, good news for you! In his next 5 games, he plays the Rams now toothless defense twice, the Raiders, and the Chargers. Plus Doug Baldwin just returned to the lineup. Now is the time to buy.
Chris Carson, Mark Ingram, Jordan Howard
With Carson a surprise inactive, Mike Davis carried the load. That probably scared off some of the teams that have him on their rosters. Upon returning, he should at least lead the committee but could return to feature back status. This is the last week that you can buy Ingram for anything less than an Elite RB1. He will return to his role as the hammer in New Orleans high powered offense. Howard was a dud last week and has a bye this week. That gives owners a lot of time to sit on that bad game. Take advantage and trade for the low-end RB1 at a discount price.
Antonio Brown, Taywan Taylor
So at the beginning of this series, I told you guys that I wouldn't give you obvious picks. I'm breaking that rule today. Brown is as much as a must buy as he possibly can be. His lower numbers this season can be attributed to the fact that Bell is not on the field. With the news that he could be returning after the bye to take some focus off AB, now is the time to swoop in. So, you missed out on Corey Davis? Well, good news. Rishard Matthews was cut. That frees up the number 2 receiver job to Taylor. Here is another chance for you to get a piece of the pie on this Titans offense.
Jimmy Graham, Evan Engram
Aaron Rodger is getting more and more healthy. That makes all of his top receivers obvious Buy Lows, but Graham is the biggest. So far he's only scored one touchdown. That number should start to go up soon as Rodgers recovers. With the tight end landscape the way it is, its worth to buy Engram and hold on to him if you need a tight end.
Players I'm Selling
Alvin Kamara, Carlos Hyde
For the same reason I'm buying Ingram, I'm selling Kamara. Not for just change though. Kamara hasn't been nearly as efficient as last year. To even that out he's gotten an insane amount of volume. With Ingram coming back that should decrease. If you can get an elite package for him, I would pull the trigger. Chubb looks good. Its only a matter of time before he starts eating into Hydes touches. Get out of that one before its too late.
AJ Green, Emmanuel Sanders
Did you know Tyler Boyd leads the Bengals in targets, receptions, and yards? Green has essentially been used as a decoy. With so many good receivers this year, there's no reason to hang on to the former number one. Sanders has been great this year. With that said, He's needed rushing attempts and trick plays to dot hat. He also has not been targeted in the red zone a single time. Don't be afraid to trade him for a true #1 while his stats are up.
George Kittle, Trey Burton
Kittle just had his best game of the season. Most of it came from one single play with broken coverage. If you take away the free 80-yard touchdown, Kittle had only 5 catches for 45 yards. Plus Beatherd is still his quarterback. Take advantage of that big play and get someone consistent. The same can be said for Burton. He caught only 2 passes last week. Take advantage and trade them for consistent options even if they didn't have as big of a day.
Players I'm Picking Up
Ronald Jones, Paul Richardson, Hayden Hurst
Let's get one thing straight. Ronald Jones is not good. I advocated strongly against drafting him. Now that he is in your waivers, he's worth a speculative add as a possible starting running back for an above average offense. Paul Richardson caught a long touchdown before the bye week and gets a juicy matchup with the Saints this week. He's a good flier play if you're really in a bind and a good stash if you have space. Hayden Hurst will make his return this week or next. He was the most pro ready tight end in the draft this year. The Ravens throw to tight ends more than any team in the league. With the tight end landscape in ruins, he could save the day for your team.
