Week 4 Buy Low Sell High Trade Advice

Week 4 Buy Low Sell High Trade Advice

We've made it to Week 4. If you were here last week, you know I was high on David Johnson and Jordan Reed. Both had bounce-back weeks. I also advised you to trade away Agoholor. I hope you listened. If you held on to Breida, the injury to Jimmy G is about to help you a lot. Beathard loves to check down to Tight Ends and Running Backs.

This week there is a lot of really good buy-low candidates. I decided to switch things up this week and try to get multiple players from each position instead of just 3 picks. Trading for these players won't always work out, sometimes you're going to get burned. So trade smart, minimalize risk and take advantage of bad games.

Players I'm Buying:

Tom Brady, Andy Dalton

Brady has yet to throw for 300 yards through three weeks. He has only 6 touchdowns with 3 turnovers. People are already talking about the fall of the Patriots dynasty. With Josh Gordon getting up to speed and Edelman returning from suspension, now is your time to make an offer. In the coming weeks Dalton plats ATL, MIA, PIT, KC, and TB. If you lost a QB this week, Dalton can be had for cheap or free.

Aaron Jones, Chris Thompson, LeSean McCoy

Jones came back to only 7 carries. It looks like to could be a full-on committee. Why would I recommend you trade for that? Because he averaged over 7 yards per carry and has an opportunity to take this backfield. Get him while he's still a committee back. Thompson busted last week playing in the rain. With a bad week and then a bye, some owners may not want to wait. Now is a good time to grab Alex Smith's favorite target. The Bills offense looked like a real NFL offense last week. Right now you can get McCoy for literally dirt cheap. Take the chance on a three down back for pennies on the dollar if you can.

Allen Robinson, Davante Adams

Adams has been good. You're not going to get him cheap but you could get him for a non-superstar price. Through three games, he's yet to hit 100 yards or have a huge blowup game. That gives you the opportunity to buy a high-end WR1 for the price of a low end. As Aaron Rodgers gets healthier, Adams is going to have bigger games. Get him while you can. Allen Robinson has 28 targets through three weeks and that number should only go up with Anthony Miller out. Without any insane WR1 production yet, Robinson should come cheap for a number one wideout.

Players I'm Selling:

Isaiah Crowell, Buck Allen

Crowell scored two touchdowns last week so he had a good week. On weeks he doesn't score.. not so much. His next five matchups are  JAX, DEN, IND, MIN, CHI. He won't be scoring too much. Unload him now while the two-touchdown performance is still fresh on everyone's mind. Buck Allen isn't a must sell. He's had a role all three weeks and should be an okay flex play for the season. Having said that, he still splits with a superior back in Alex Collins. If you can get a more consistent performer for him, you should take it after the big week.

Jordy Nelson, Marquis Goodwin

What do Jared Cook, Amari Cooper, and Jordy Nelson all have in common? They each play for the Raiders and have one good fantasy week to their name. A different receiver has led the team every week of the season so far. Jared Cook seems like the only consistent producer. Trade Nelson while you're riding the wave of the big game. With the sad news of Jimmy G tearing his ACL, comes the plummeting stock of Goodwin. Beatherd is a checkdown machine. Hyde averaged 8.3 targets a game last year with him at QB compared to 3.8 without him.

Rob Gronkowski

This is a hard one. Gronk was drafted early to be an impact performer on your fantasy team. While I'm buying Brady with all those weapons coming back, I'm selling Gronk for the same reason. With plenty of low-end tight ends available like Eifert, Kittle, and Burton now is the time to trade him for an elite player at another position.

Players I'm Holding:

David Johnson

Last week David Johnson was in my Buy's. He still is if you can get him cheap. Don't panic and sell him for nothing. With Rosen taking over at QB the offense should be more consistent. Also, matchups against SEA and SF Means there are easier days ahead. If you're going to sell, wait for a big week and make sure you get elite talent.

Players I'm Picking Up:

Ryan Tannehill, Nyhiem Hines, Tyler Boyd, Tyler Eifert

Tannehill has looked great this season and if you had a QB injury, this is a great place to look. Hines has been consistent in PPR and had 10 touches this week. Boyd has established himself as the #2 for an above average offense with the Bengals. Eifert has great matchups in the next five weeks. He also has 12 targets in the last two weeks and is growing back into his old role.

Week 3 Buy Low Sell High Trade Advice

Week 3 Buy Low Sell High Trade Advice

Hello Everybody. Welcome back for Week 3. I hope you all listened when I advised you to trade away Week 1 fantasy star, Adrian Peterson. Corey Davis is again a buy low since Mariota was out last week. Kareem Hunt and Kyle Rudolph also paid off if you invested in them after Week 1’s bad performance. When it comes to big stars, I advise you to not overreact.

Every week I try to give you a couple more under the radar players to trade away or trade for. I think everyone knows LeSean McCoy is in a bad place, or that Travis Kelce was going to bounce back after Week 1’s stinker. I try to name some player that could be good value, but it’s really up to you and what your team needs. Don’t be afraid to go for riskier players if you have the depth to do so or to take a little less than the optimal value to fill a void. There’s always the waiver wire to help reload your roster. with all that said, let’s get into Week 3.

Players I’m Buying

David Johnson: Two blowouts in two weeks. Things are looking pretty glum for 2016’s fantasy darling. With a total of only 20.8 points in the last two weeks combined, teams might be getting a little panicky. Bradford has been atrocious and I don’t look for him to start too much longer. Once Rosen gets the reins, I expect Johnson to perform better. A RB2 such as Ajayi, Collins or Drake would be a steal for a workhorse such as Johnson. I wouldn't feel too distressed giving up back end round 1 player either, as long as it isn't Barkley.

Quincy Enunwa: Featured as a must add in the waiver wire article last week, Enunwa is a perfect target. With 21 targets in the last two weeks, there is no doubt he’s Darnold’s guy. This may be your last chance before other players catch on to how good Enunwa has really been. With a matchup on deck with Cleveland, he may blow up after this week. Get him while you can. I would feel extremely fortunate if I were able to get him for a WR3 such as Agholor, Godwin, or Stills.

Jordan Reed: After a solid Week 1, Reed came back to earth a little bit. He still caught 6 balls for 55 yards but a lost fumble makes it look worse. Alex Smith is still acclimating in this offense and things haven’t seemed to click yet. Once things get figured out, it may be hard to pry Reed away. Even if Alex Smith doesn’t come around, all these checkdowns can only be good for Reed and Thompson. Trading a low-end TE1 and a WR4 would be perfect. Players like OJ Howard, Jesse James, Mike Williams, and Sterling Shepard should about cover it.

Players I’m Selling

Matt Brieda: It’s always hard to trade a player that you were confident in, and waited to blow up. But in Brieda’s case, a repeat performance isn't likely. Despite the huge day, Morris still had 14 carries and this is very much a timeshare. You should use Week 2’s blowup to try to get a more consistent contributor. Running Backs such as Lamar Miller, Marshawn Lynch, and Derrick Henry would be good targets.

Nelson Agholor: Right now Agholor is the #2 option in the Eagles high octane passing attack. Wentz is coming back this week and makes a good selling point for Agholor. In a few weeks, Alshon Jeffery will come back and reclaim his spot at the top of the pecking order. Right now you can return WR2 value for Agholor. Players such as John Brown, Enunwa, and Corey Davis make a great value.

Tevin Coleman: Coleman operated as the Top Dog in Atlanta’s backfield last week and looked dang good doing it. He had 20 touches for 125 impressive yards. He may have another week or two of starting time to milk if you choose, but I would personally trade him now while he’s hot. Freeman will be returning to the starting lineup soon and then this goes right back to a timeshare. If you're able to flip this temporary workhorse for a lower end RB1/high end RB2, jump on it. Maybe target the Mixon owner if he’s hurting after the news. If you can afford the hole in your roster, Mixon would be an excellent pickup. If you can’t, players such as Kenyan Drake, Jay Ajayi, and Carlos Hyde would be good options.

Week 2 Buy Low/Sell High

Week 2 Buy Low/Sell High

I hope everyone made it through week 1 of Fantasy Football with no injuries and a win. If you lost don’t worry, I've got you covered with my running back rankings this week and below with some ideal trade targets. If you were one of the few unlucky players to have a star go down this week, we've got you covered with our week 2 waiver wire picks.

Week 1 affords a savvy Fantasy Football owner the chance to take advantage of overreaction. James Conner looked Elite, the Bucs offense is humming, and Hunt looked like a bust. Some owners will be panicking or looking to get the next big thing. Let's take advantage.

Players to Sell

James Conner: Don’t sell him for pennies on the dollar. You should not be looking to rid yourself of Conner because I believe he will be an Elite option as long as he starts. How long will he start? If you are able to get a RB1 that may have had a bad week for him, jump on it. Kareem Hunt and Devonta Freeman would be an excellent pickup for a player who won’t start an entire season.

DeSean Jackson: Jackson absolutely erupted this week. Too bad he sustained a concussion before the game finished. Concussions are tricky and can make you miss anywhere from a few days to weeks in the bad cases. If you read my pre-draft sleeper article, you know that I’m extremely high on Chris Godwin. If Jackson misses any time, I look for Godwin to make that #2 spot his. That makes it likely that this is the best game we see all season for Jackson. You should try to unload him for a low-end WR1 while demand is high. Crabtree, Landry, and Fitzgerald all make fantastic options.

Adrian Peterson: Peterson looked vintage in his game against the Cardinals. He’s back right? Maybe, maybe not. You probably don’t want to take that chance. He is still 33 years old, and his injury risk is high. He also had 70 yards receiving. How many times has that happened in his career? As a Peterson owner myself, I'm actively trying to trade him for a higher end RB2 with a defined role. Players like Lamar Miller, Kenyan Drake or Royce Freeman have been main targets of mine.

Players to Buy

Kareem Hunt: Hunt was dreadful Week 1. In a game that saw the Chiefs pile up 38 points, Hunt owners got a measly 4.9 PPR points. Spencer Ware and De’Anthony Thomas both outscored Hunt this week. Many owners spent a first round pick and may be panicking after seeing this. Hunt still touched the ball 16 times and saw many opportunities to score. It was just a bad game from last seasons leading rusher. With games against the Steelers and 49ers next up, grab him now. Trading away players with capped upside like Lamar Miller, Jay Ajayi, or Carlos Hyde for a player of Hunts Caliber could be a smart season-long move.

Corey Davis: Both Mariota and Walker went down in week 1. Tough breaks for any Titans fans out there. The injury to Walker opens up a prime opportunity for Corey Davis. Already the top option in the passing game with 12 targets week 1, he should now be even more of a target vacuum. With Mariota banged up, and Blaine Gabbert next man up, the Davis owner might be looking to get off the train. Now is the time to strike. Don’t be afraid to trade #2 receivers on bad teams who had a good game for him. Kenny Stills, Geronimo Allison, and Ted Ginn would all be perfect candidates.

Kyle Rudolph: Kirk Cousins loves his tight ends. While week 1 didn't go as planned for Rudolph owners, his only reception was still a touchdown. His owners might be a little wary that he only received two targets, even if one was in the redzone. If you had a tight end go down this week, or yours just didn’t go as planned, Rudolph is a great option. Trading a WR3 Phillip Dorsett, or DeDe Westbrook could pay off big for a tight end needy team.

Trey Burton: Burton was a massive disappointment in Week 1. Don’t let that stop you from going after him. We saw through the preseason that he’s a huge part of Matt Nagy’s system and we all saw what Kelce did with that. Burton showed us all what he can do in limited opportunities last season. Look for him to bounce back. I would make a similar trade as I would for Rudolph, or trade an overachieving Tight End from Week 1. Jesse James, Bruce Ellington, and Cole Beasley would be a win in my book.

Remember as you are making these trades what it really comes down to is what the other team needs. If they have two tight ends but are a little short on receivers, offer a receiver. My trade examples are just guidelines for the appropriate value. There are a bunch of ways to make your team better. Speaking of which, here's a few waiver wire sleepers I'm high on for the week.

Chris Godwin: Jackson was injured at the end of Week 1. If I'm correct, Godwin is going to run with the job while he’s out.

Brandon Marshall: With Baldwin now out, Marshall should be the #1 in Russell Wilson’s offense. I'm hearing it's an MCL tear, so it could be awhile.

Tyrell Williams: Williams dropped a sure-fire long touchdown, and still finished with 8.8 PPR points. He had 5 targets and with the way Rivers, looks could be a solid option.

Phillip Lindsay: It's no sure thing that he continues to play as much as he did in the opener, but if he does he is worth a speculative add.

Buck Allen: Alex Collins fumbled. Again. Kenneth Dixon got hurt. Again. Buck Allen is the next man up and should at least get passing work.

Antonio Gates: Gates is about as ho-hum as you can get but if you were one of the unlucky owners to lose a starting tight end this week, you could do worse. Gates always has touchdown upside and should be fresh after sitting out the entire preseason.

Ian Thomas: Next man up after Olsens newest foot injury. He looked great in preseason action and could end up a low-end TE1.

Week 1's are always crazy so don't respond by acting crazy. Plenty of guys failed to deliver in Week 1 (Deshaun Watson, LeSean McCoy, Kareem Hunt, Travis Kelce), but hold onto them.
